Rugby Summer Camp 2019

On Thursday 15th and Friday 16th of August the club held their first summer rugby camp. Over the 2 days 32 kids from the age of 6-11 attended the camp. They did all aspects of rugby, from passing to tackling, evasion and decision making, even had the chance to play in the cage and on the bungee. There was excellent talent across all ages.

We were very fortunate to have the presence of All Black Sam Tuitupou who came down with Eifion to interact and answer questions from the kids. He was fantastic, the kids and the coaches enjoyed his company that afternoon. We hope to see him again at the club. Plus we can’t forget our very own super star Jordan ‘Chunka’ Jones who came down as well. Great to see him at the club again and putting time and energy into our grass roots, we are very proud of Jordan's progression into regional rugby securing the No8 jersey for RGC.

As the camp was so popular with the kids we are already arranging next year.  A huge thanks to our club members and players for assisting me with the Camp  Nia Sanderson, Sue & Rob Hughes for feeding and watering us all and coaching assistants Rhys Tudor, Josh Morgan, Huw Wyn Jones, Morgan Sanderson, Sion "chicken" Evans, Lois Hughes and Budur Parry.

We were also fortunate enough to receive a generous donation from Ruthin Scottish Country Dance Society so big thanks to Julie Williams.
