Ruthin Ladies RFC was formed in 1999 and had their first year in the North Wales league in 2000 and has from the start finished consistently at or near the top of the league.

The team has a strong history of fielding players at regional level with players like Lois Jones, twins Sarah and Ruth Simkin, Linda Harrison, Ceri Ann Jones, Rhianwen Roberts and Gwawr Clos-Griffiths.  Sarah Simkin subsequently progressed to National honours and represented Wales at Senior Ladies three season ago.

Ruthin Ladies boast a proud tradition for producing outstanding talent with two players previously in the Welsh Development squad, two U19's Welsh squad players Sian Owen and Sibhoan Appleby who went on tour to Canada and Ruth Evans Currently capped at prop in the Welsh National team.

Currently there is a strong squad of 27 players ably led by club captain Gail Banks. As a team they have a good all round game that in the 2008-09 season has given them seven straight wins  and placed them in the Welsh National cup quarter finals.

Past coaches have included Dylan Davies, Alun O Davies and most notably new Welsh prop, Sale Sharks Eifion Lewis-Roberts.

The ladies would like to welcome anyone interested in playing rugby to come on down to training on Thursdays, 7-8pm,  (ages 17+ welcome) whether new to the game or experienced players.

The club enjoys a good social scene mixed with competitive rugby so fun will be had both on and off the pitch.

The team comprises players from all over the North East of Wales, so whether you are from Wrexham, Mold, Deeside, Denbigh or Rhyl you will all be made more than welcome by the friendly atmosphere of the club.
