On a wet and slippery pitch at Cae Ddol Ruthin started strongly against Bethesda and were 5 points up within 10 minutes with a try from prop Richard Sullivan.  The Blues continued to pressure Pesda but couldn’t get past their solid defence.  The visitors made their first foray into Ruthin’s half after the try and were awarded a penalty which Daniel Pritchard slotted over.  The Blues continued to play in the visitors half without reward and then after a Ruthin player was sin-binned Bethesda got another penalty in the Blues half and Pritchard did the honours again.  Pesda tried to widen the gap further whilst Ruthin were down to 14 men but the Blues defence held and the whistle blew for half time with Bethesda 6-5 ahead.  After the break the Blues continued their pressure but with more reward than in the first half.  Almost immediately 2^nd row Chris Davies and centre Emyr Gwynedd combined to put No 8 Joe Jordan over for a fine try which fly half Jamie Jones converted.  Bethesda responded but Ruthin defended well and went further ahead with a try by scrum half Will Mitchelmore.  Again Pesda tried to reduce the arrears but to no avail and after 75 minutes Emyr got the Blues their bonus point try.  Bethesda still continued to try to reduce the arrears but Ruthin’s defence held and they came away with a 25-6 win.
