Dinbych and Rhuthun fought out an exciting Plate game at Denbigh on Saturday.  The hosts spent the first 15 minutes or so in the visitors half with no reward and then Rhuthun after withstanding  the pressure began to play some incisive rugby.  After 20 minutes fly half Iestyn Davies scored the visitor’s first try and 15 minutes later wing Josh Wilson went over for their second.  The hosts reduced the arrears with a try from Jack Jones, converted by Robin Cartwright just on half time and the first half finished with the game finely balanced at 10-7 to Rhuthun.  After break Rhuthun’s Harri Hughes and Gwion Richards scored two quick tries.  Although Dinbych reduced the damage with a penalty kick,  from then on Rhuthun playing fast, open rugby, scored a further 4 tries with Iestyn Davies scoring getting his hat trick and No 8 Sion Donnelly and replacement Gethin Hughes also going over the whitewash with Gwion kicking 4 conversions.  Dinbych put up a spirited defence but could not stem the visitor’s surge.  The final score was 48-10 to Rhuthun and also capped a good day out for 2^nd and youth teams who also won away at Mold and Rhyl respectively.
